Creating inclusive mobile experiences for neurodivergent users that benefit everyone.

Neurodivergent users are often expected to adapt to technology that was not intentionally designed for them. This project explored how Samsung mobile experiences could better support different ways of interacting with technology, processing information, and managing cognitive load. Through user research, expert interviews, survey analysis, competitive analysis, and a workshop in Korea, we translated real user needs into a strategic framework, future One UI concepts, and product opportunities. My role focused on conducting research, synthesizing insights, shaping the strategy, and bringing the voice of users into UX flows, product-ready directions, and future mobile experience concepts.

Research & Synthesis

Led mixed-methods research into neurodivergent experiences through expert interviews, user interviews, a 500-person quantitative survey, and a classroom field visit with neurodivergent children. Synthesized findings into key user needs, pain points, and design implications for more supportive mobile experiences.

Competitive & Feature Analysis

Audited 50+ products and 20+ companies to understand how existing solutions support neurodivergent users and where they fall short. Evaluated Samsung’s existing mobile features through a neurodiversity lens to identify gaps and opportunities for more inclusive use.

Design Strategy

Translated research and landscape findings into a neuroinclusive design framework and 4 strategic opportunity areas, shaping the team’s POV on how Samsung mobile experiences could better support neurodivergent users.

Concept Development

Developed product concepts, user flows, wireframes, and UI explorations across the opportunity areas. Co-led a workshop with mobile UX and engineering teams in Korea, then refined directions into product-ready UX, including a granted patent concept and future roadmap opportunities.
