Designing future laptop experiences where AI is built into everyday workflows.

AI is becoming part of everyday computing, but most PC experiences still treat it like an added feature instead of a new way to interact. This project explored what future laptop experiences could become when AI is built into the workflow, interface, and physical product experience. Through user research, AI landscape analysis, concept development, and prototyping, we developed AI PC concepts grounded in user needs and future product opportunities. My role focused on conducting research, translating insights into opportunity areas, and bringing future AI PC concepts to life through UX flows, high-fidelity prototypes, and experience videos.

Research & Synthesis

Conducted task-based user research sessions to understand how people use AI on PCs today, where they struggle, and what they expect from future AI-powered laptop experiences. Synthesized findings into user needs, pain points, and behavioral insights that shaped the next phase of concept development.

AI Landscape & Opportunity Mapping

Connected user research insights with broader AI landscape research to identify emerging behaviors, product gaps, and future opportunities for PC experiences. Translated these findings into 4 strategic opportunity areas that guided concept development.

Concept Design & Storytelling

Designed 11 future AI PC concepts, translating them into UX/UI flows, interaction models, high-fidelity prototypes, and concept videos used to test desirability with 500 participants and communicate concept value to stakeholders.

Patent Prototype & User Validation

Designed an interactive prototype for a granted patent concept focused on a physical AI interface. Tested the prototype through in-person user research sessions, where participants interacted with the prototype and provided feedback on usability and desirability.
